NCC’s donation of cancer pharmaceuticals to the SOLCA hospitals in Ecuador have assisted countless needy cancer patients. These medicines have provided hope for patients who otherwise would have not received treatment. NCC Cares is making a difference in lives of cancer victims throughout Latin America.

The Need

Numerous cancer pharmaceuticals are inaccessible to needy patients in Ecuador given the high cost of these medicines. Working together with the SOLCA hospitals in both Quito and Guayaquil, NCC has been able to touch the lives of thousands of impoverished cancer patients – both young and the old – giving them the opportunity to lead a cancer-free existence.

Hospital

NCC has established a partnership with the SOLCA (Sociedad Luchar Contra Cancer) hospital system to assist needy cancer patients throughout Ecuador. There are 10 SOLCA hospitals or regional clinics in Ecuador, including two large hospitals in Guayaquil and Quito.

Distribution

A hand-over ceremony was held at the SOLCA hospital headquarters in Guayaquil to officially recognize NCC’s donations to Ecuador. Participants included U.S. Consul General Kevin Herbert, NCC International Programs Director Thomas Roane, and the President of SOLCA Hospitals Ecuador Dr. Gustavo Calderon. Following the ceremony, the delegation toured the hospital and visited with cancer patients that are currently being assisted.
