The National Cancer Coalition donated high quality cancer pharmaceuticals for the needy pediatric cancer patients being treated at the Unidad Nacional de Oncologia Pediatrica in Guatemala City.

The Need

Guatemala is a developing country of 12 million people with a poverty rate of approximately 40 percent among its population. As a result, a great number of its people have very limited access to basic health care and the government is limited in its ability to fully provide services for cancer victims.

Hospital

NCC partnered with the Unidad Nacional de Oncologia Pediatrica that is associated with Hospital Roosevelt. This is the largest pediatric cancer hospital in Guatemala and it treats the majority of Guatemala’s over 600 new cases of pediatric cancer per year.

Distribution

NCC has partnered with numerous humanitarian organizations in Guatemala to ensure the medicines it provides are utilized efficiently and effectively

Result

NCC has brought hope to the cancer victims in Guatemala.
