The Need |
||
| Witnessing the great need of the Honduran cancer
patients, NCC has initiated pharmaceutical donation projects with the
Honduran Foundation for Children with Cancer. Over fifty percent of the
population in Honduras lives at or below the poverty line resulting in
a great need for assistance in many Honduran hospitals. Most patients
do not have the funds to purchase their required medicines, thus NCC’s
program is making a impact on the survival rate for these young cancer
patients. |

Hospital Escuela is the principal pediatric hospital for Honduras, located in the capital city of Tegucigalpa. It treats approximately 150 pediatric cancer patients per year for all types of cancers. Hospital Escuela receives limited support from the Honduran government and thus is pleased to partner with organizations like NCC, which provide needed chemotherapies. |
|
DistributionThe National Cancer Coalition has conducted numerous projects in Honduras providing requested cancer pharmaceuticals.
